It's Superbowl Sunday

It's Superbowl Sunday and I'm in Vegas for the fourth year in a row.

I landed tickets to a private Superbowl party at the Golden Nugget. They catered this event in their covered courtyard with a huge 10 x 10 foot screen for the big game with gourmet food lines on both sides of the room. They set up hundreds of recliners and love seat couches for a comfortable afternoon. The Nugget set up Craps and Blackjack tables in the rear so that us hard core gamblers wouldn't have to miss any action....while watching the action.

I played in the morning poker tournament at the Nugget, made it to the final table but got knocked out before the money. I played a NL Hold'Em ring game afterwards and left about $200 up.

Gotta love Vegas baby!

It's Vegas Baby

I rolled into Vegas on Thursday for 4 nights as a VIP guest at the Luxor. In addition to getting some money on the Superbowl, I figured I'd play in some Vegas poker tournaments and test the waters.

I entered the Luxor morning tourney but did not fare well, as almost everyone says, their blind structure goes up way too fast and it becomes a session of bingo poker. All in every hand.

I was out in time to enter Binions afternoon NL Hold' Em tourney. Now this was a classic. Here I was playing poker underneath the Poker Hall of Fame. Doyle & Moss & Stu watching over us. Poker royalty.


I played in the Sands tourney that evening and finished 5th and ITM.
No time to sleep because Binions runs another one at 1am.
You can literally play poker tournaments around the clock.
